Asia has been leading the global economic recovery thanks to a rapid reacceleration in manufacturing and trade. Growth has surged during the first half of 2010, with many countries reaching decade highs. Yet, this pace of advances is clearly not sustainable. Indeed, signs of a slowdown began to emerge during the summer months. Will this slowdown mark merely a temporary pause following the initial surge, or is the region facing a more protracted downshift?

Join our experts on 2 September as we discuss the many issues surrounding Asia's economic outlook.

  • What has driven Asia's remarkable recovery so far?
  • What will support growth going forward?
  • How pronounced will the anticipated slowdown be?
  • What are key vulnerabilities in the region?
  • What should we expect on the policy front over the next 18 months?
  • Are we too worried about a Chinese slowdown?
  • Where next for Japan?
  • Will India buck the slowing trend?
