Products and Services

European Light Vehicle Production CO2 Forecasting Service

In response to the new CO2 emission targets legislation being introduced by the European Commission, IHS Global Insight has developed the European Light Vehicle Production CO2 Forecasting Service to assist automotive vehicle and technology manufacturers with forecasting CO2 performance for vehicles produced in Europe up to five years out.

Built on a solid foundation of IHS Global Insight's automotive market and technology expertise, the methodology for our CO2 production forecasting service is based on an analysis of the major factors that influence the CO2 emissions of vehicles. This service consequently provides an indicator of the most likely future CO2 output by vehicle model based on future technology adoption, providing useful insights into European vehicle production CO2 trends.

The new service offers:
  • The ability to perform vehicle make and model-level analysis
  • CO2 performance ratings reported by vehicle manufacturer and OEM Group
  • The potential to forecast competitor vehicle's CO2 performance for benchmarking purposes
  • Quick assessments of the medium-term CO2 impact of individual technology solutions
  • Analysis based on IHS Global Insight industry-leading Powertrain Service

European Regulatory Outlook for Alternative Fuels

The IHS Global Insight European Regulatory Outlook for Alternative Fuels service is designed to meet the needs of commercial, technology, and corporate affairs management responsible for developing automotive products and/or automotive-related services. This outlook will add value in aiding critical decisions that are influenced by legislation and the underlying political debate. Because the various programs and regulations in the member states appear, in the near term, to be on seemingly divergent paths, it is important to understand the short- and longer-term outlook for alternative fuels and for alternative-fueled vehicles in Europe.

The European Regulatory Outlook for Alternative Fuels includes an overview by alternative fuel (biodiesel, ethanol, CNG, and LPG) and a detailed review of the changing regulatory situation in the European Union and six member states: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.
