WIS Sector Risk Ratings
WIS Sector Risk Ratings allows loan officers, credit analysts, and portfolio managers to measure the risks that arise from the sector composition of corporate loan books and bond portfolios. Our unique data indicators and risk scores help you actively manage risk and monitor changes to sector risk profiles. Composite sector risk ratings are globally comparable over time, across countries, and across sectors. With Sector Risk Ratings you can:
- Quantify the inherent risk of industry segments
- Monitor the level and direction of risks from a summary perspective
- Link up sector risk with country and sovereign risk analysis
- Identify industry concentrations and correlation in portfolios
- Assess the relationship between risk and return
Composite risk ratings are computed by using 40 different risk factors to measure sector-level patterns in credit migration arising from growth in production and sales; pricing power and profitability; supply conditions and capacity overhang; industry structure and bargaining positions; sector sensitivity to business cycles and interest rates; regulation and technology; and macroeconomic environment and country sovereign risk factors. The service is available through MyInsight, our client-access Web site.
